What Is Google Analytics And Why Do I Need It?

Posted in    |   Back to All Posts

In short, it monitors your website and because we said so.  But if that isn’t enough of a reason for you, keep reading…

Google AnalyticsAs stated on Wikipedia, “Google Analytics is a service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about a website’s traffic and traffic sources and measures conversions and sales. The product (Google Analytics) is aimed at marketers as opposed to webmasters and technologists from which the industry of web analytics originally grew. It’s the most widely used website statistics service.”

Google Analytics can track site visitors from all areas, including search engines, social media networks, direct visits and referring sites along with track how long each visitor remained on your site. It can also identify high and poorly performing pages, links, and media within your site. And the best part, the basic service for Google Analytics is free!  However, if you’re set on having more capabilities with your analytics service, there is a premium version available for a fee.

The majority of the websites Fusion Forward builds include the WordPress Google Analytics plugin. This gives our clients insight on who is clicking on what within their website, which in turn tells them what type of things customers like to see vs. things they ignore.  We can then help you generate a marketing strategy to ‘fit’ what your clients already want to see and participate in!  In general, we already know consumers prefer to see videos and images.  So to get your analytics off to a good start, be sure to engage your site visitors with a welcome video, an image of your staff or a virtual tour of your facility.
